On Thursday, the 8th February, the General Post Office and all Branch Post Oilers will be entirely closed. There will be no collection from the I'll boxes and no delivery by Postmen.
On Friday, the 9th February, the General Post Office and Kowloon Central Post Office will be open from 6 n.m. to 11 a.m. Sheungwan Branch Post Office will be open from 8am. to 9 am, and the other Branch Offices will be entirely closed.,
There will be one collection from the pillar boxes as on Sundays and one delivery of registered and or- dinary correspondence at 11 am. The Branch Post Offices at Stanley, Ti Po and Un Long will also have one delivery of ordinary correspondence at 11 am.

AN APOLOGY
ON FEBRUARY 5, the "Hongkong Telograph" publish. ed a story under the hending "Tho. Banned Doctor," which was reprinted from the London "Sunday Pictorial” and to which the British Medical Association has taken exception.
The Hongkong and South China Branch of the British Medical Asso- elation has since drawn our attention to an apology which was published in the London "Sunday Pictorial" in their issue of November 10, as follows:
The nows story entitled 'The Bon ned Doctor', published in our issue of November 6, reflected on the British Bledical Arociation by alleging that the Association, in solecting doctors for the various forms of National Service, was discriminating unfairly against doctors who were non-mom- hers or who had not rendered 'past Kervleen' to the Association,

"We find on investigation that the Annociation I completely impartial, offering to non-mombers and mom- bers ulika the Anmo oppor- tunities for service. We dentro, to express to the Association and to thone responsible for, the adminis iration of the Central Medical War Committee our apologies and sincere regrot for having published such statements,"
The "Hongkong Telegraph" regvela having given offence, and wholly associates itself with the foregoing apology.
Importers' Protests Upheld In U.S.
WASHINGTON, Feb. (UP)- The United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals has decided on Japanese

In two cases the Court upheld the importers' protest against 10 per cent. duty on tooth brushes and slide fasteners which was assessed on the ground that the goods were not legally marked with the country of origin.
In the third case the Court afrmed the Customs Collector's rejection of the attempt by the Nippon Dry Goods Company to amend a duress certi- deale under which silk is imported From Japan.
