-REPORTS HAVE NOW BEEN RE-

CEIVED OF ATTACKS ON SIX SHIPS DURING SATURDAY'S AIR RAIDS ON THE EAST COAST OF BRITAIN.

FIVE OF THE SHIPS WERE BRITISH. ONE WAS A BELGIAN VESSEL.

Reports have also been received that an unknown Swedish ship was bombed and machine-gunned somewhere in the North Sea but no definitc details are yet available.

The British ships are the Kilda 'z, Yewdale, Rose of England, Corland and Harley.

An S.O.S. was picked up from the Kildale, a 3,800 ton vessel, saying that the crew were taking to the boats.

Two East Const life-boats were landed at a port on the East Coast. It is un- derstood that six others are missing.

Collier Attacked

Tie Yewdale, an 800 Lon Glasgow collier, was attacked by two German planes about a mil : from the coast. Although the ship suffered little damage the Captain was killed at the wheel and three members of the crew were injured.

The Rose of England, a Chimbay- trawler of 200 tons, was attacked in --the-same-area. --No-one-washit though the ship was moching- gunned.

The crew of the Harley, 409 tous. have been handed at an East Const town.
