Announcing the proposed (New Central School) grounds under budget estimated.

In the proceedings on the Council it is stated that the difference between the amount paid for the site (£152,249.16) and the amount sanctioned in the Estimate for 1876 (£125,000) amounted to £27,249.16.

3. But in the minutes of the Executive Council of the 8th March 1877 (Page 16-17) it is recorded that a further sum of £7,500 was sanctioned for the purchase of the ground, making the total amount sanctioned £132,500, which is not to exceed. It is stated that the valuations of the properties deemed necessary for the purposes of the projected new school considerably exceeded the valuations of the owners.

With some hesitation, I concur in this additional sum (£7,000) as it has been approved by W. Harding, Acting Administrator when Administering the Government.
