NEW YORK, Jan. 22 (Reu- ter).-Earl Browder, General Secretary of the Communist Party in America, was to-day convicted of charges of twice using passports obtained by a false statement.

He was sentenced to two years' impelsonment and fined $1,000 an ence of the two counts.
