deliberating 45 minutes, the jury convicted Earl Browder on both counts for fraudulently securing post- porta, making him llable maximum sentence of ten years in prison and a $4,000 fine. Judge Coxe immediately sentenced Browder to 4 years Imprisonment and fined him $2,000.
Judge Coxe said, "I am not in the habit of thanking jurles, but in this case I want to thank them for the way they courageously and fearlessly conducted themselves."
Browder's bail was continued until Wednesday, the Judge specifying that the defence counsel must perfect un appeal by that time. Browder left the court-room, presumably to speak. at to-night's Slate Communist rally, Madison which is being held in Square Gardens.
