Island by granite blocks like the other part, and made 5 feet above high water mark for a distance of 40 yards.
The work to be commenced from the Island and built right as it goes on; where Length because, if the work were commenced at the same time a nasty reef would be formed till the whole was finished.
This Breakwater would shelter a space of about 10,000 square yards, extending from the East end of Parding's Bund to the Canal or Creek with a depth of from 1 1/2 to 3 fathoms at low water giving perfect security to boats and steam launches. It would also break the sea and prevent the Bund for some distance to the Westward from receiving the full force of the waves and being washed away.
A Beacon should be placed on the rock marked (†).
