PEACE
After 20 years of unpopularity among the boys at Brookfield School, Chipping, Latin munster, got mar- ried after a romantic episode in the Tyrols, and was taught how to get along with the boys by his bride who died a year afterwards in childbirth. But she had taught Chipping to overcome his dlfidence, to un- derstand the boys and soon the whole school was using her nickname for him-Chips, After 20 more years he retired, but when the war in France started, the Governors called him to carry on as Headmaster when he was past 80.
