(H. G. Thomsett Esq. R.N.)

From Bishop Raimondi to Colonial Secretary

301

Hong Kong. 11 June 1877.

Sir,

In answer to your letter of this date, I beg to state that four colored women were picked up by the French vessel Dupleix, as reported by the Harbor Master.

Enclosure 2 in Governor J. Pope Hennessy's despatch No. 47 of 3rd July 1877

I don't think that any of the Missionary bodies here have branch Missions in Australia.

However, I am acquainted with the Representatives in Sydney of the R. Catholic Missions for the greater part of the Pacific Islands, such as Solomon Island, New Caledonia, Navigator Islands, Wallis Island, etc.

The Honorable J. Gardiner Austin

Colonial Secretary
