FIRST essential of most New Year's Eve parties is fancy dress. For the benefit of anyone who has neglected to make preparations beforehand, here are four original and quito creditable ideas for dressing up. Everything necessary for each costume can be found in the average household.
The handsome Sheikh lias his face stained brown (sun-tan make-up or a weak solution of iodine), and a black wool or burnt-cork beard.
