SCOTLAND WIN DESULTORY
England Defeated 2-0: Schoolboy Prominent In Forward. Line
(By **Rex")
EXCEPT FOR INTERMITTENT thrills, the Scotland-England International football match played at the Hongkong Club ground yesterday was a tame affair, and ended in an easy win for Scotland by two goals to nil. The game bordered on desultory, its redeeming features being the splendid goal-keeping of Duncan, the Scottish custodian, and an excellent display by Ferrier, Hossack and Pryde of short passing, which seemed to have had the England defence at sixes and
sovens.
Bright played one of his worst games this season and after the first few exchanges the English side fell com- pletely away to allow the Scots to do almost as they pleased.
Duncan gave one of his finest Jance Fowler tried n solo run anel performances to date, and ap-testel Duncan with a hard drive. peared to have full confidence Fowler again broke through, and in his backs. When he was left when on the point of shooting Dun- to face the English attack alone, fçan dived ut his feel and he was he came through with flying forced to jump over him, and the ball colours, saving point blank shots close attendance. The game flagged was cleared with Fowler and Saw in from Fowler, and, going full somewhat with muth middeld piny. length to the same player and the half backs being much Thoburn.
Jevidence. Willamson was forcing
Bright back and succeeded well.
Blackburn any one were a tower of strength and showed an under- standing that a seldom seen amongst backs in this Colony. Bone had the full measure of Fowler and prevented this player from ever being really dangerous. Blackburn, fared with a tricky left wing combination, ne quitted himself creditably, so much so that Saw and Thomas appeared to be subdued.
Williamson gave his finest as an attacking pivot, and was given ex- cellent support by his wing halves.

He never really going and when he did was always robbed of the ball. Thoburn worked very hard and deserved a gool nt least, but his poor shooting was the Scots' advantage. Fowler was a trier, and 110, too, deserved goals. Ells fault lies in, that he does not realise he has a strong kick, and in- variably taps the ball a sight ton hard, losing it to an opponent.
