MR. LINDSAY LAFFORD

Former Hongkong Organist Now at Princeton

Mr. Lindsay A. Lafford, former organist of St. John's Cathedral, bas taken up his neve, post as Choir Director and Organid at Princeton University, U.S.A. He made quite an impression on his arst Sunday in Chapel.

Commenting on the event the Princeton Alumni Weekly says.- "Lindsay Lafford, formerly of Here- ford Cathedral, England, who han been appointed to take the place of Professor Robert Hyfslnder as choir director and organist, started out his Arst Sunday in chapel with a bang. Accustomed to the gentle and meBI- fluous improvisations of its former organist, the chair was started end when Mr. Lafford sounded forth some extra loud notes in the old English colhedral manner. For few seconds there was no singing and even the drowsy underclassinen in the first few pests were aroused for a short time."
