Interest in the Allied Fleets' efforts to round up the two German naval rai- |ders, the 10,000-ton “pocket battleships" Admiiral Scheer and Deutschland, is sharp. ened by the mystery which surrounds their meeting- places with supply ships.
These ships recently left various ports in Mexico, and Central and South America.
Rendezvous used for supply shipw iz 1914-15 by the Karlsruhe and other Germun raiders of the Inst war included:
The Island of Marusa, nearly 100 miles to the north of the Amazon estuary;
Sao Joao Island and Lavandeira Reef, equally lonely spots on the Brazilian coast, further south;
Roens Reef, St. Paul Rocks and Trinidad, all for aut in the South Atlantic,
it may be assumed that these places have been investigated by British cruisers in search the Admiral Scheer and the Deutschland.
If, ns suspected, the Admiral Scheer has transferred her activities to the Pacific, there are at least three Isolated spots which were visited by the Leipzig and others of Admiral Spee's cruisers in 1014-15.
