though the Attorney General on the 18th
of May concurred with the other members
of Council in recommending me to deport the prisoner, I referred back the
papers on the 22nd
of May to the
Attorney General for a brief report on
each of the four convictions and sentences
which had been laid
before him and
the other members of Council as the
justification for the proposed deportation as I entertained a doubt about some of the convictions and sentences as set
forth in these depositions
