The annual Al Fresco Fete of the Society of St Vincent de Paul was held on the vacant ground opposite the Peninsula Hotel, Kowloon, yes- terday,

- The Vienr Apostolle (Bishop H. Vultorin) declared the Fele open, He was received by the Rev. Fr. T. Ryan, S.J., acting Chairman of the Bazaar Committer.

Blahop Valtorto, in a brief speech, reminded the people that the Bazaar was in ald of charlly, and appealed to all to spend liberally. They were sorry that Mr. II. Dixon, their Chair- man, was unable to be with them be- cause of illness, but the result of the Fete would, the Bishop fel: sure, go a Jong way towards improving his health.

The grounds, which were gally decorated, and ined with stalls and ide-shows on all sides, were filled with a large crowd long before the opening ceremony, and hundreds more were admited as the afternoon and evening wore on."
