For H. M. Consul

Report submitted to C. T. Gardner Esqre. H. M. Vice-Consul, relative to 255 Balls of Patna, and 127 Packages of Malwa Opium.

On examining the above Opium previous to its delivery to Dent & Co., it was ascertained, that, the balls of Patna were crushed, but the weight of which on being tested was affected only to a small degree, only one ounce deficient each; and on opening a few packets of Malwa, it was found that some of them contained 41/2 balls instead of 5 full balls, the weight however shewed little or no discrepancy.
