With reference to the carrying away of the junk and cargo by a Chinese Cruiser on the 29th October at Tapee D'Aiguilar, which formed the subject of an immediate communication to Her Majesty's representative at Canton, I am instructed by His Excellency The Governor to express his surprise at the unwarrantable delay on the part of the Canton authorities in a matter which involves complications of a very serious nature.
