THE GERMAN ADVANCE-Photograph shows Gorman Infantry marching across a bridge partially destroyed by the retreating Polos. The swiftnces of the German advance provented the Poles, in many instances, from completely destroying communications across rivers and streams.

BRIDGE BLOWN UP by a Polish ming in an effort to stom the German advance. This photograph was taken in the Polish corridor, where the Gorman forces from East Prussia and Germany Proper mat on September 15. The bridge was not destroyed sufficiently to prevent the passage of tho Germanis.
