the case
in
that His Excellency confines
the present remonstration
to a demand for the immediate
restitution to this Government of the
Junk and cargo prized at Cape d'Aguilar in order that the
owners
should be made amenable to British
law which they have violated.
I have to impress upon you
strongly
the necessity of placing before
the Chinese Government the
extreme
and the gravity of the
offence
committed by their officials in-
vading British Territory with arms in their hands.
