Don't Leave Property
In Open Cars
THAT Police were given addi- tional work to do by motorists who persisted in leaving their property in open cars was point- ed out at Kowloon Magistracy this morning.
Two men appeared before, Mr. Macfadyen in connection with the larceny of a camera and a quantity of cutlery on Sunday from a car belonging to Mr. R. C. Beavan.
It was stated that five reports of car thefts were received by the Police on the same day.
Dot.-Sgt, J. Johnston zold car No. 5217 was parked in Gascoigne Road opposite the Alhambra Theatre when the theft took place. The following morning, a constable saw second defendant, Yu Kong, enter a pawn- shop in Shanghal Street with a camera. When questioned, Yu took the constable to a ten shop where first defendant, Mak Wun-hing, was found.

The marriage of Major. Mitchell and his wife, formerly Misa Barbaru Handcock, daughter of a retired P. W. D. official, took place at Sleet, Hamp- shire, England, only on June this year when the Major was on leave. It was during his leave that he met Miss Handcock.
Major Mitchell is the youngest son of the late Mr. E. W. Mitchel; and the youngest brother of Lt-Col, E, J. R. Mitchell of the Manufacturers' Lite Insurance Company, und Mr. A. S. Mitchell of the Union Insurance Society of Canton, Hongkong.
