Ingredients: 4lb butter or margarine,
or Doz, good beef dripping, 14oz. flour, 4lb. currants, Goz. sultanas, 20z, candied peri, 3 cops, 2 level teaspoonfuls of baking pow- der, milk, to mix.
Sleve the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt together, rub in the fat until fine, add the washed, picked and dried cuF- rants and sultanas, and, lastly, the finely shredded candied peel...
Mix together, add the well-beaten caps and suficient milk to make a soft cake mixture. Pour into a prepared tin, and bake in a moderate oven for 11⁄2 hours.
