TWO RULERS OFFER TO MEDIATE IN EUROPE

AMSTERDAM, Aug. 29 (UP-It is under- stood that Queen Wil- helmina of Holland and King Leopold of Bel- gium have offered their good offices for a five power peace conference.

It is understood that France has already express- ed her willingness to accept. It is also understood that King Leopold suggested the offer.

Diplomatic representatives in London welcomed Queen Wil- helmina's and King Leopold's offer of mediation but expressed doubt whether Herr Hitler, after Ignoring President Roosevelt's appeal, will react any more favourably to the Dutch and Belgium initiative.
