Leading by two matches to one at the end of the first day's play, the Amorican ladios won tho Wightman Cup against the British ladies by win- ning three of the four matches played to-day, Miss Valerie Scott was the only British girl to win to-day, boating Mrs, Sarah Palfrey-Fabyan in straight sets.
