SHANGHAI, Aug. 17 (Domei).—With the return of fine weather, Japanese naval air units have staged wide-spread attacks in Southwest and Central China, according to a communique issued by the press section of the Japanese Fleet in China Waters.

Especially intense activity was shown in Kwangsi where Liuchow, Sunchow, Nanning and Ningming were visited by Japanese bombers. Raiding Liuchow in central Kwangsi, Japanese planes rained bombs on the western part of the city where munitions were piled up. Huge fire was started at two places in the city.
