I beg to state in support of this application that the duties of Registrar fell upon me from the middle of November 1875, when the late Mr. Alexander retired to his house, and was too unwell to return to the office; and I venture to hope that this, combined with my long service of nearly 22 years, will enlist His Excellency's favourable consideration of my application.
