TWO-TONE COCKADES

MY hat I decided called for

thought. It must be as gay as a summer's day and as capricious as the sun between showers if it is going to suit all the different frocks in the sum- mor wardrobe.

Paris dressmakers have this sea- son abandoned the through-the-day- clothes, so prevalent during the past few yours. Tailored styles are for the morning frocks for the utter- поста dressed up with all the feminine nicetics-luce, ribbon and dowers and bows.

Even colton dresses, with their practical lines, have a pretty-pretty ale this season.

So your millinery must change if it is to harmonise. It is no longer a question of almply trimming the hat the hat must give pride of place and Importance to. the trimming. One hit goes with all your clollies, as you can see by the becoming model 1 have had sketched for you. Mushroom styles or straight brim med sailors are two of the most popular shopen. My favourite is the mushroom hat-it fits nicely on the hend, is new and soft to the face.

Let's take the practical trimmings Rest. That ribbon trimming with two ends standing out is easily kept erect with fine wire,

Birds in light in different colours are Kmart for "younst marrieds." Ribbon daisies with loops of ribbon to give a leafy illusion are originul,

Flowers can be used with many frocks. Anemones, lies of the valley, little Victorian postes with their cake frills are all effective especially if you have nailer edition of the same bloom fastened on your dress.

That touch of white has a magical. effect in lighting up a frock. White hats, by the way, are having a tremendous vogue in Paris just al present.

Fine Valenclennes lace, broderic Anglaise and white Swiss lace with coloured ribbon running through can all be repented on your hat,,

Tiny balls of swansdown, bulterfly bows of organdle, even pipe-cleaners twisted to form a spiky flower, can be used, for it is the trimming this summer that makes-my hat!

For this bolero sult in small black and white checks. there are large while pique revers and * Ingerie blouse. A while and black hat, white gloves black patent handbag complete the black and whlio ensemble.
