Since then I have continued to perform the duties of the office. There was no Annual Conferring, nor my other publications in the Gazette until the new Ordinance came in force when apparently in order to comply with its supposed requirements I was again gazetted in May of last year.
The appointment has been held for many years by my predecessors, notably in the case of the late Mr. Collins who held it I believe for 10 years and resigned it on account of failing health, leaving the Colony, others in leaving the Service.
