as, according to Austin's reports, the
conduct of the present set of
clerks is the subject of
complaint, I do not see the use
of adding to the number, especially when
men who could hardly be
expected to possess higher quali-
fications for the work.
I would suggest for your
consideration whether it would not
be expedient to select this
trained clerk from the Supreme
Court at £150 a year, on
equality with the officer
at present styled head clerk;
