The match between Bradbury and Grimmilt was a very fine one Indeed and, considering the trickiness of the green, the standard of play was extremely high. There was never very much in it on can be judged by the scores, which showed 5-5 on the 6th head, 0-8 on the 0th, 12-12 on the 13th. But on the 18th, 10th and 17th bands, Bradbury scored n two, one and three to lead 18-13.
The turning point in the match was seen on the 18th "when a lucky wood by Grimmitt not only pre- vented Bradbury from taking four shots all beautifully drawn woods- but gave his ride a single, and the score, Instead of being 22-13 in favour of Bradbury, became only 18-14, and the fight was still on.
