Murder in the front room

YARD HUNT FOR

WOMAN WHO HAD

DRINKS AT FLAT

POOLE (Dorsot).

A MAN and a woman who had drinks and smoked cigarettes in the Brank- some flat of Mr. Walter Dinnivan, sixty-four-year-old wealthy property. owner, on the night that he was murdered are being hunted by Scotland- yard.

Mr. Walter Dianivan jun., grand son of the murdered man, who was formerly stationed in Hongkong posed with Miss Trebilcock.

Buying Hat May Take a Woman Weeks

WHEN

The man and woman sat at a mahogany table in the sitting room at the front of the flat.

Vital clues on which Chief Inspector L. Burt, of Scotland- yard, has been able to base his reconstructions are:-.

A woman's small hair stile covered

with celluloid.

Three bult ends of cork-tipped cigarettes of a brand whleh neither the dead man nor his family smoked,

Two glasses which had contained beer set on the table with the whisky glass which the dead man sed,

A strange Angerprint on one of the

beer glasses.

The police quest has now been narrowed to a search for a man and

the he could have had access

to home.

There was no sign of a forcible entry, but Jewellery and money worth several hundred pounds have] bech stolen from the flat. The safe

So, at least, it would appear from the answers given by women in different walks of life who were asked at random recently what they thought about this all-import- ant task.

It will be recalled that counsel in a case at Brentford recently expressed astonishment when a commercial traveller said it look him two and a half hours to sell 14 hats to a shop assistant.

For sheer endurance the te-1

cord seems to be held by Mrs.

Carr, of the Women's Adverts The Fainting

ing Club, who confessed she has been trying to buy herself a new spring hat for the past three woeke
