After 28 Serrifying hours In the aunken submarine, 210 feet down off the New Hampshire coasi, 33 members of the Squatus crew were rescued in the diving bell. Here cager hands are stretched out to help men just brought up. Twenty-six shipmates died.

This is the navy submarine Squalus, which sank helpless 240 feel below the ocean's surface. off the New Hampshire coast, with 50 men pboard. One of the newest vessels of the navy, the Squalus was built at Portsmouth, N.. H., and was launched September 14, 1938.

Consignees are hereby informed that their goods with the exception of Opium, Treasure -and Valuables are being landed and stored into the Godowns of the llongkong Kowloon Wharf and Godown Co., Ltd., Kow- loon, whence delivery may be obtain- ed Immediately after landing.

All claims must be sent in to me on or before 5th July, 1939, or they will not be recognized.

Damaged Packages will be examin- ed by the Company's Surveyor Messrs:-Goddard and Douglas in the presence, of the Consignees at 10.00 a.m. on Friday, 30th June, 1038. Consignees must have a Revenue Officer in attendance when any duti able goods are examined by the Com- pany's Surveyors,

Commander of the B-fated submarine Squalus is Lieutenant Oliver F. Naquin, above, of Alex- andria, La. He was born in New Orleans March 24, 1004, and was graduated from the naval aca- demy at Annapolis. He recently has lived in Washington with his wife and two children.
