I have the honour to request that you will be pleased to recommend this my application to the favourable consideration of His Excellency the Governor to be permitted to retire from the service on pension from the 1st proximo on account of continuous ill health which prevents me from doing active duty any longer, and I beg to annex a certificate from the Colonial Supt of Victoria Gaol,
