Sally Victor Hats Inspired by History

New York-Our hats are off to Sally Victor, a milliner with an idea, She bases her spring collection cu "The American Scene," which goes to prove my off repeated point that there is nothing haphazard about fashiong and that they usually stem from pollileal situation or some significant picce

news.

Based entirely upon original de- signs which conform to current key spring silhouettes, this collection is built around the history of the U.S.A.. starting in the 16th Century with the Cavalier hats worn by Sir Francis Drake and his gallant crew, down through the puritan hats of the John Alden period. the Southern planters, the Dutch settlers of New York, the Qunkers of Peonsylvania. Then through the days of the treks of the covered wagons up to the cur frent scene.

This is evidenced in those inspired by Cavaller, New England, Southern planters and Dutch settler versions, which taper upward, some of the latter suggesting "neg legs" reversed.
