MANILA TO JOIN ANNUAL INTERPORT BASEBALL DEVELOPS A

SOCCER SERIES Relationship Placed

On Permanent Basis

Manila, May 6.

The football relation between Manila and Hongkong is now more or loss permanent. At a meeting of the head officials of the Hongkong, football delegation and the PAAF football com- mittee at the Wack Wack Country Golf Club, Thursday, noon, it was tentatively agreed that every year the Hongkong team plays in Manila during the month of February, while the Manila team will go to Hongkong during the month of April.

CHINESE MEET IN FINAL

The change is suggested in view of the difficulty of the Manila players, who are mostly college and university students to secure leave of absence during the academic year for the purpose of playing in Hongkong. Al- though is advantageous for Hong- kong to play in their home city during the Chinese new year's day in the latter part of January or early part of February, they were agree- able to change the date in accordance with the request of the P.A.A.F. foot- ball committee.

Manila, May 9, The Philippines Davis Cup play- ers, Amado Sanchez and Felinisimo Anipon will leave for San Francisco by the President Plerce on May 15,

They are expected to play extubi- tlon games in Hongkong on May 18.. -United Press.

Sanchez, who is the No. 1 rank- ing player in the Philippines, re- cently visited Hongkong with Lea- cardo Gavin.

An carlier report stated that Sanchez and Ampon were due here to-morrow at 6 p.m. and would leave again on Friday morning, at 1 a.m. In view of the time of arrival and departure, Mr. T. A, Pearce, Hon. Secretary of the Hongkong Lawn Tennis Association, told the Telegraph yesterday that no exhiblilon would be arranged in the Colony.

Now, however, it may be possible that the Filipino Davis Cup players will appear here; everything will de- pend on the length of their stay in port.
