Germany Increases Taxation Revenue
Berlin, Apr. 27.
THE enormous increase in revenue from taxation by 4.2 milliard marks in the fiscal year of 1938-39 compared with the previous year was announced

Receipts from taxation in- creased from 14 milliard marka last year to about 18.2 milliard marks during the present fiscal year, an increase of about 30.
At the beginning of the cur- rent year, receipts from taxa- tion yielded during the first 20 days of April about 200,000,000 marks more than for the same period in 1938—Trans-Ocean.

Thirty women went through the chamber this morning, led by Mrs. Steele Perkins at the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps Headquarters, and most of them went to the extent of sniffing the gus after the trip to assure themselves that there had been no deception. Tears running down their cheeks gave them that assurance.
