Mr. Paulin. Dark Cell. There is no Cell in my opinion preferable to read in. I never know a man who was not made worse by it. I think the Crank ought to be kept for offences against Gaol Discipline. I think the Yard extra rations might be given.

That Bill was introduced we had no special instructions given. When instructions were given to me, the prisoners are awake at 6 am, commence work at 7 am and are all locked up at 6 pm.

W. Pamplin says the present Dietary is sufficient if abided by, but it is continually being altered by orders from the Prison authorities.
