Barrister Sues Major Over

Maid Who Left

"WE HAD TO CANCEL CHRISTMAS PARTY"

A

BARRISTER and his wife sued a retired major and his wife at Marylebone recently to decide in whose house an 18-years-old girl servant should have spent Christmas.

Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Brigstock-their "Christmas was spoilt" of Parsifal-road, Hampstead, N.W., claimed damages from Major and Mrs. E. J. Corse-Scott, and from the girl, Miss Mary Ann Nolan, all of Cholmley-gardens, West Hampstead.

They say that there has been a breach of contract by the girl, and that Major and Mrs. Corse-Scott "procured and har- boured" her.

Mrs. Dora Constance Brig-1 stock described how she engaged Miss Nolan to live in, at a salary of £1 a week, in October, last
