I think the tendency of opinion in England has further attended since Mr. Wright's digest was Compiled 11 years ago, and that it is now believed that in this kingdom and especially in Prisons, the reduction of diet was carried to excess. A low diet, though producing no immediate ills, may induce a very dangerous liability to disease and inability to resist its attacks
