A Committee was sent to examine the terms of the dietary as it stands, and it was felt to be discouraging to the dietary of the prison. The diet was found to be 24% more expensive than that of other prisons, upon examination carefully watched.

It is true that experience is the foundation of results. The dietary of European prisons is concordant and allows for hard labour in each of two days a week; whereas M. objects to the reduction at duty in the canteen.
