Medical Flying Squad For Mothers
FROM now onwards, at any hour of the day or night, an am- bulance will bring to any London mother's door, within a few minutes, a medical unit consisting of a doctor, midwife and equipment,
This is one result of the L.C.C.'s emergency obstetric service, the so-called "maternity flying sqund," which came into operation recently.
London has been divided into four areas for the service, with
a rota of three hospitals in each.
The service will cover four-fifths of London, the remaining fifth being already equipped with the service by private arrangements with University College Hospital and Barts.
