KAI TAK BEACON To The Editor,
Hongkong Telegraph
Sir, We find it necessary to call to your attention a mis-statement which has appeared in the local press to the effect that the Boeing Clipper on its initial arrival at Hongkong on March 3 "experienced considerable difficulty in locating the Colony."
While it is true that the Boeing Clipper, because of heavy weather in the Hongkong area, cruised around· for a little over half an hour waiting for local weather conditions to im prove before landing, it is not true that any difficulty was experienced in A Captain locating the Colony, Cluthe knew exactly where he was every second of the time, being in constant communication with the Government radio station at Kal Tak Airport by wireless telegraph and rodio telephone.
