than a rough approach to the final boundary which it was always understood would be determined when the road came to be built.

As one of the main objects of the road has been to obtain a clearly defined line of demarcation between Crown land and the War Department Reserves in Victoria, Your Lordship will perceive that

the adoption of the approximate line of 1869 is inadmissible for the reasons

in the

last paragraph of the Surveyor General's Report.
