in respect to this coinage I hat I cannot fail to observe that Mr. Wells' letter of the 26th June 1876 did bring to the notice of
the Colonial Govt the fact -
that the bronze token
a
supply of $6000
was
required for the Treasury
Chest, and that the reply from the acting Treasurer of
the 27th June virtually invited the officer in charge of the Treasury
chest to send in a tender for the amount required so that it appears to me that
your predecessor
was duly justified in assuming
as he states
in his despatch of
15 November that he did - that - It was not intended to take
