The King Commands Ballet

Gala at Covent Garden

M.LEBRUN WILL BE GUEST OF HONOUR

FOR the first time since pre-war days a Royal Com- mand ballet performance is to be given at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on March 22.

It will be held in honour of the French President and Madame Lebrun, who are in London on a State visit. And thus, for a night, the stateliest of all theatres will once again be the scene of pageantry and royal pomp.""

PROGRAMME CHOSEN

The great boxes will occupy almost the whole of the grand tler, the ten-

Diplomatic Corps and their wives and leaders of the Government.

In the past the foyer on the Arst floor has served as an ante-room to the royal box, and it is anticipated that this arrangement will be pested.

The King and Queen have chosen the programine, which will be provided by the Vic- Wells Ballet and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Like their foreign guests, their Majes- ties keenly enjoy ballet.
