Marcel Rochus, taking the Pompadour silhouette as his inspiration, is giving his.. evening frocks large billowing skirts and tailored tops.
Skirts are made of lace, heavy silk gathered into rows or festooned and looped. Bodices are of contrasting colours, with high necks, long sleeves, or, in some cases, short
sleeves coming to, within 2in, of the elbow. One frock has a check-shirt top, a full black skirt, with the check of the bodice worked into it.
Contrasting with these are his more traditional off-the-shoulder-line frocks with puff sleeves and one or two brassiere tops," all with crinoline skirts.
