A briefly written You view Some particulars Concerning
my
1.
Services in this Colony.
I was appointed by the Secretary of State, Superintendent
of the Foreign Police on the
4th October 1844, having previously
Served nine years in the
London Metropolitan Police.
2.
This office I held until
the year 1862, frequently however for lengthened periods sometimes conjointly with the Charge of the Police, but occasionally inhibited from that duty holding other appointments viz Registrar General, Sheriff Coroner, Marshal of the Vice Admiralty
Court, Assistant Magistrate, Assessor
and Collector of
Police Rates.
The Supervision of the Sails and
of
the Kowloong
upon the Cession Territory in January 1861, Civil Summary
Commissioner of
the new district.
On 1st July 1862, I was Gazetted
1st Police Magistrate and in
addition to that

to three years and a half, filled the appointment
of Acting Colonial Treasurer, this latter office Conveying
