It is
unanimously
resolved that in consideration of
the greatly
increased and onerous
professional duties which devolve upon the present Surveyor General on account of the important
new
works in course of construction and in consideration of the manner
in which these duties are
fulfilled, the Council is of opinion that the proposed increase
of $960 a year
is inadequate, that the Right - Honourable the Secretary of State should be respectfully invited to reconsider his decision and to
