therefore not unreasonably lead me to entertain every hope of securing Lord the Secretary of State's acquiescence in my application, especially as in the service, when an office entailing
of itself heavy work and responsibilities, is imposed upon another, the holder is generally
allowed some remuneration for
increased labours.
5. Under the circumstances
and if the Government is satisfied that I justly earn the £1500 which I have applied for, I trust that His
Excellency The Governor will be pleased to obtain a further consideration of my case by transmitting home my representations at His Excellency's early convenience.
