THE ARAB delegation of the Palestine conference, including Ragbeb Bey, met Mr. Malcolm MacDonald and Mr. R. A. Butler to-day, when Emir Feisal made a statement on matters arising from correspondence between Sir Henry MacMahon and Sheik Hessein in 1915, on which the Araba base their claim for independence.

Death Of Former Army Chief
London, Feb. 14.
The death is announced of Sir Alexander Hamilton Gordon, in his 60th year-Reuter.
After spending 40 years in the army, Lleut-General Sir Alexander Gordon retired in 1920. During hla career he was created K.C.B., and c.B., and he won several decorations dur- ing the Afghan and South African wars.
He was attached to the School of Gunnery in 1901, was transferred to the Aldershot Staff the Bume year and served there for four years, then served six years at Headquarters, ami from 1910 to 1914 was Director of Military Operations' in India. He commanded Aldershot from 1914 to 1910 and from 1910 to 1918 com- manded the Ninth Army Corps.
