Importance Of Sunday School Teaching Stressed By Dean
rd.
That it was better to have no Sunday School than one with teachers who presented an inadequate or false presentation of Christianity, was the view expressed by the Very Rev. Dean J. L. Wilson yesterday, when he presided at the annual general meeting of St. John's Cathedral,
The Dean said it was of vital importance that children, who were to be the future members of the Church, should not have to unlearn in later life, what they had been taught, and that teachers should show that they considered their task one of privilege and high vocation.
An excess of income over expenditure of under $1,000 was reported, but a note of warning against complacency was struck. it being pointed out that had the Michaelmas Fair not been an outstanding success there would have been a deficit.
