Four unidentified men broke into the house of Chen Ning-chan, a mer- chant, in the French Concession. One of them whipped out a revolver and fred at him. He was hit in the stomach by a bullet. All the men esenped.
The motive of the shooting is yet unknown, but it is alleged that Chen has recently bought a large quantity of Japanese goods.-Central News.
